Bachelor of Arts with Major in Environmental Studies

As the pressure of use on all parts of the environment increases, so our need to understand the environment and how we can interact with it in sustainable ways becomes more and more important. Environmental Studies encourages a wide-ranging, interdisciplinary and integrative approach to the study of the biophysical environment. Students will be made familiar with a wide range of interactions between people and environments as well as various environmental processes and biophysical systems. Environmental studies therefore involves such topics as the forms and processes of the biosphere, the economic, political, philosophical and ethical dimensions of our relationships with the biosphere, and the planning strategies and management techniques that can be implemented to regulate our impact on environments.
