Meta-cognitive variables as determinants of choosing behaviour in eyewitness
identifications.
Seeking to contribute to the extant literature investigating facors that influence
eyewitness identification accuracy, specifically, the psychological processes
that may affect witness confidence and further underlie the decision to
choose or not when confronted with a lineup. This research focuses on
the impact meta-cognitions (intuitive theories of memory and their interaction
with judgments relating to the experience) may have on witness choosing
behaviour, in a bid to understand this crucial aspect of the eyewitness
identification process. |
